Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that this is the final edition of the Weekly Reminders for 2023. What a year it has been ‘Growing in Grace’ at St Emilie’s.
This morning’s Thanksgiving Mass was a beautiful occasion. Having our community come together for the final time this year was very special. Thank you to the parents and carers who came along to give thanks and also to say goodbye to our Year Six children, the children and families leaving our community and to Mrs Dobson, Mrs Landers and Miss Williams on their final day here at the school. We wish all of these people all the very best. They will always be a part of the St Emilie’s story.
The last few weeks have been very busy with the usual end of year preparations in full swing. Amidst the busyness, there have been some beautiful reminders of what brings our staff to school each and every day. That is, to be with your children and provide them with the best Catholic education we possibly can.
This week, the Weekly Reminders is a celebration of all things that have happened in the last few weeks of school. Please enjoy the photos below of some of the wonderful memories.
To conclude for the year, I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the staff here at St Emilie’s to wish you all a very happy and Holy Christmas. We look forward to welcoming you all back to school in 2024.
Lego League
Tomorrow, seven children from year Five and Year Six will travel to Curtin University to participate in the state finals of the Lego League competition. This is the first year that our school has been a part of this competition and to make it to the state finals is amazing. Go St Emilie’s!
Black shoes for the start of 2024
A reminder that the School Uniform Procedure at St Emilie’s states that children must wear full black shoes only i.e. no logo or other colours. Coming to the end of the year, we understand when shoes start to come apart due to a year’s use or, that children may have outgrown their shoes.
At the commencement of the 2024 school year, we ask that all children have black school shoes in line with the uniform requirements at the school
Semester Two Reports
Semester Two Reports were sent home yesterday for all children in Pre Primary to Year Six using SEQTA Engage. A quick information guide to assist with reading the reports was also emailed home to parents and carers to assist with understanding what the reports are saying. I would strongly advise that you read this guide to get the most from your child’s report.
Concert Photos
Photos from the School Christmas and Edu-Dance Concert will be shared with families next week via SeeSaw for parents and carers.

A reminder that 2024 Class Lists will be shared with the community on Thursday 15 December 2023.
First Day of School 2024

Outstanding school fees account statements will be coming home this term. Unpaid school fees are now overdue. If you do not have a payment plan (Direct Debit/Credit Card/BPay) in place, please contact Gillian Norris or Amy Andrews on 9256 9696.
NOW Accepting Kindy Enrolments for 2025
We are now accepting enrolments for Kindy 2025. If you have a child who will be going into Kindy in 2025 (born between 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021), please ensure you submit an Enrolment Form application to the office. An application for enrolment can be collected from the front office or by visiting the School Website.

Parent Circle
Fruit of the Holy Spirit
For most people, patience can be difficult in certain circumstances. Whether it’s waiting in a doctor’s office past your appointment time, sitting in traffic or trying to get the kids to do their chores, patience is sometimes hard to come by.
During these recent times, our days can be long, hard and incredibly stressful. When we’re exhausted or worried, finding patience is probably the last thing on our minds, but it should really be the first. We are told in Psalm 37:7, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.”
How do we develop patience? How can we cultivate patience in relationships with our loved ones? Patience is waiting with grace and it’s what enables us to live in this demanding world and still have love, joy and peace, and all the other fruits of the Spirit. But, patience is much easier said than done, right? Waiting with patience is difficult, and God knows this. The good news is that you don’t have to wait alone.
Romans 8:26 says, “But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
