During HASS this term, we have been learning about Australian history. We have been investigating some of the most significant events in our history and one of those was the arrival of the First Fleet. We learnt many facts about the First Fleet and we used this information to draw a ship!
We’ve also been reading about the impact the arrival of Europeans had on our indigenous population in our class novel Young Dark Emu. We now know that there were many unfortunate conflicts that occurred because of many of these significant events, but it is especially important that we continue to recognise Aboriginal people as the traditional owners of this land.
