A season for gratitude …

As we prepare to welcome the Season of Advent in just under a week, may we all try hard to support our children to appreciate the little things we are ‘gifted’ with each day, and to find the real Christmas message in the small acts of kindness we do for others.

I cannot thank enough the very special parents in our school who have reached out with such practical kindness to individuals who have been diagnosed with a serious and confronting health challenge – you are a gift to them and to our whole community. These small acts of kindness are done very quietly, with little fuss or fanfare – please just know that you are a shining example of goodness to us all.

Thank you also to all families who have generously donated food items for our SVDP hampers for local families in crisis situations – every little bit helps those in need to know, they are not alone.

To the families who have gone the extra step and responded to the stars on the office Christmas tree – many thanks. These gifts will certainly brighten the life of a child and make a day that should be a time of hope, joy and love be realised.

It is only through giving, that the true Christmas message can be fulfilled – giving our time, our care, our patience, our prayers, our love – giving the very best version of ourselves to others.

May we continue to support each other and our children in these last two busy weeks of school, to be a real  ‘gift’ to one another.
