On Thursday 30th March, St Emilie’s took Thirty students to compete in the 2023 Inter-School Swimming Carnival.
This was the largest swimming carnival our association has had. With 7 local primary schools and over 220 students competing.
Our students have trained extremely hard this term and have given up a number of their Tuesday mornings in preparation for the event.
They should all be extremely proud of their efforts.
As usual, St.Emilie’s students displayed terrific sportsmanship and gave their best efforts throughout the day.
Two of our students received awards on the day:
Year 4 Girls Runner up Champion – McKenzie
Open Butterfly B Division Runner Up – Zane
Overall Team scores are listed below
A big thank you to all parents who got their children to early morning training sessions and supported us on the day.
Mrs Chamberlain, Mrs Yock and Miss Halton also provided terrific support and gave up much of their time this term to assist.

The 2021 Inter-School swimming carnival was held on Tuesday 23rd March at Aqualife Aquatic centre.
The St.Emilie’s swim team had been in training since the beginning of the term, with excellent numbers attending training sessions at Riverton Leisureplex.
We would like to say a big ‘Thank You” to all the parents that were able to get their children to and from the training sessions throughout this term.
We understand how difficult this can be, especially so early in the morning.
The carnival itself was a huge success for St.Emilie’s.
Previously our best finish was 3rd position from 5 schools.
On Tuesday we finished in 2nd Position, from 6 schools.
The attitude, effort and the way our students cheer and support each other during Inter-School events is second to none.
While it was a huge team effort to finish in second position, we had a number of students receive individual medals for the day.
Nalo was runner up champion boy in year 4, Olaf was champion boy in year 5 and Nathanael was runner up champion boy in Year 6.
We would also like to thank all the parents that attended to support us on the day.
