Slide05

This Thursday evening the 3rd April, 6.30pm – 7.30pm, Year Three children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the very first time. Families and parishioners will also participate in this liturgy of the Second Rite as personal and communal preparation for the joy of Easter Sunday, when we celebrate Jesus conquering death and rising to New Life. Please keep our Year Three’s and their families in your prayers  as they take time out of the busyness to reflect upon their need for healing and peace.

ImageLast week all Year Six students were invited to write an application to the St Emilie’s School Leadership Team for an opportunity to meet the Premier on Friday 21st March and ask him a couple of questions of interest to them. Teyharna Curry and Jordan Passeur’s application letters were selected and the girls joined other representative students, at the invitation of Mr Peter Abbetz MLA. They both found the experience interesting and Mr Munro, who accompanied them, reported that the girls did our school proud!  Congratulations and thank you girls!

Last Saturday night saw the first of our children from Years 3, 4 and 6, who will receive either the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharist or Confirmation, along with the support of their families, commit to the Sacramental program for 2014. This is a special time for us all as we continue to ask ourselves – how can I be the hands, the feet, the eyes, the body of Jesus in my everyday life?

Representative Staff members, School Board and P&F members were also commissioned in their roles for 2014. As leaders in our school community, we ask that God will continue to guide and nourish us in our important work.

Sr Margaret Mary Gannon

Last Wednesday, 19th March 2014, was our first GANNON HOUSE DAY ! Sr Margaret Mary Gannon was our VIP and she joined us at our mini House assembly, where she received her very own Gannon House shirt and some beautiful flowers, that were bright orange of course! Children thoroughly enjoyed their shared lunch and team games and it was all capped off with a delicious orange icy-pole – ah, life is good!

All the best for the year ahead Gannon House!
